About the Online Driver Improvement Course

The online driver improvement clinic course is an eight-hour course, including the final test, and is designed to rehabilitate problem drivers. The course must be completed in its entirety before the issuance of a certificate of completion.

The online driver improvement course and the final test must be completed through a DMV-licensed online driver improvement clinic. No paper test is permitted.

The course is available to teens and adults.

The course fee is $70.

The fee must be paid before you gain access to the course website.

You will see the option when you set up your student account for online access.

Court-Required Completion

Your court may or may not accept the certificate of completion for this computer-based course. It is your responsibility to determine whether your court accepts courses taken at online traffic schools.

Customers directed by the court must provide documentation from the court before safe driving points can be awarded.

To benefit from the course, you must be able to work independently and be comfortable with using a computer.

CDL Driver Improvement Requirement
If you are required to attend a commercial driver improvement clinic, then this computer-based course will NOT satisfy a driver improvement clinic requirement. You must satisfactorily complete a clinic that provides CDL classroom instruction.

Student Identification Verification

Student identification will be verified throughout training and prior to taking the final test to ensure that the person taking the course is the same person taking the final test.

Instructions for Taking the Online Course

Register for Online Driver Improvement Today!

To begin, click the button below to pay the course fee and you will be redirected to the curriculum website. Click the button on the left-hand side of the page that says "Click Here to Register!".

Select your course.
Fill out the registration form.
Review the information and click the Register button.
The list of sections will appear. Click on the "start course" button to begin learning!
After completing each chapter of the program you will take a quiz. After passing each quiz you will continue to the next chapter.
Follow the online instructions to take the Final Exam. Upon making payment and passing the final exam, we will email your Certificate of Completion. Be aware - the creation of your unique DIC 552B student completion certificate is a manual process so your certificate will be emailed to you during office hours and within 24 hours of your course completion.

Please note that you can exit and re-enter the program at your own convenience. You will receive the course link in your welcome email; you can find the email in your inbox or spam/junk folder. Our student progress monitoring feature allows you to pick up exactly where you left off.

Electronic Certificate of Completion

The certificate of completion will be electronically transmitted to all individuals upon successful completion of the course within 24 hours.

The DMV standardized certificate, "Online Driver Improvement Clinic Certificate of Completion (DIC 552B)" is the only document that will be accepted by the DMV and the Courts as proof of completion of an online driver improvement clinic.

How to Print the Certificate

The certificate of completion will be electronically transmitted (emailed) to all students within 24 hours of successful completion of the course (including payment). You will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC on your computer to view/print your completion certificate. Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is FREE and can be downloaded by going to https://get.adobe.com/reader/

The certificate of completion must be printed on 8½" x 11" plain white bonded paper. DMV will not accept certificates printed on color or special designed paper or paper with any form of an advertisement on the front or back of the certificate. DMV will not accept any certificates that have been altered in any way.
